Leucate’s Plagette Beach is undoubtedly the most original beach of the department of Aude. Hidden in the Leucate cliffs at Cap Leucate, at the foot of the semaphore, this small sandy beach offers an idyllic setting in an area away from the noise and turbulence. Access is difficult. Firstly, because it has stairs carved into the rock and then a steep path to finally arrive in this corner of paradise.
To find this beach, take D627 road for Leucate Plage. At the entrance to the village, take the road on the left towards Cap-Leucate (lighthouse). Park your car as far as possible on the cliff. Continue on foot to the semaphore (about 300 meters). Access to the small beach is before the semaphore at the Cap-Leucate sign indicating that the access is dangerous.
