Beaches on the seaside resorts of the Aude department in France

45 km of coastline, 5 resorts, numerous lakes and sandy beaches as far as the eye can see, lies the tourist attraction of the department of Aude. Best known for its Cathar castles, Corbières or the magnificent city of Carcassonne, we can forget that we find beautiful beaches in the Aude.

Gruissan is the most authentic resort of the Aude and even the Languedoc-Roussillon region. With its stilted beach-side chalets, it was at the heart of the film “37°2 le matin”. This is a very nice resort with vast sandy beaches.

Narbonne-Plage is an important resort typical of the style that is found on the Languedoc coast. Nearby, St-Pierre-sur-Mer is a family orientated resort with its “Gouffre de l’Oeil-Doux” which attracts many visitors.

Port-la-Nouvelle is active throughout the year thanks to its commercial port.

Port-Leucate cannot be dissociated from Port-Barcarès, seaside resort of the Pyrénées Orientales,with its sailing base which is the largest in the Mediterranean. There are many tourist facilities and holiday homes.

Northeast, we have the beaches of the Hérault with the beaches of La Grande Motte or Palavas les Flots which are the best known.
