Located on the Var coast between Bandol and Six-Fours-les-Plages, the seaside resort of Sanary sur Mer has kept its Provençal atmosphere with small colourful boats moored in its harbour. Very busy in the summer season, the atmosphere is totally different off-season.

As for the beaches of Sanary sur Mer, there are 8 of them. The largest one is located in the northwest near Bandol. It is the largest and the busiest, it offers a beautiful view of Bandol and the island of Bendor. Gorguette Beach is located nearby, a mix of sand and shingle, which is also popular in the summer season. Esplanade Beach is near the city centre of Sanary sur Mer. It is not one of the most attractive but it has the advantage to be close to the city centre. There are also some hidden beaches, unfrequented, ideal for those looking for peace and quiet. This is also a renowned area for surfing because of the Mistral wind. A nice variety of beaches to spend your holidays in Provence.

We are close to the Calanques of Marseille and Cassis; boat trips are possible from the port of Sanary to both these destinations.

It is also possible, in the summer season, to go from Sanary to the islands of Embiez (island of Paul Ricard).
