The peninsula Saint Mandrier closes off the bay of Toulon in the south. Historically, it was an island that was attached in the 16th century by the accumulation of sand by marine currents. The little harbor of St Mandrier has plenty of charm.
We find several beaches in Saint Mandrier. The north side of the peninsula is across from the beaches of Toulon and its bay. With kids, the spectacle is always impressive. On this side the beaches are made of sand and one has a lifeguard.
On the beaches of the south of the peninsula, we find two beaches with lifeguards in the summer. One is made of sand and the other of stones. The environment is very agreeable and the coastal path allows us to pass from one beach to the other. Some passages are difficult, especially with children. It is sometimes better to go by car if your goal is to swim tranquilly.
Near St Mandrier, you will find several touristic areas. The beaches of La Seyne sur Mer extend from one side to the other of the peninsula. Sablettes Beach is the most well known. The beaches of Six Fours are also interesting with the little Brusc harbor and Ile de Gaou. The beaches of Pradet offer a more wild setting and you'll have to walk a bit to access them. From Hyères, we can get to the beaches of Porquerolles by boat. The environment is preserved and the beaches are interesting. However, in the summer, it is crowded.
