Located between Arromanches les Bains and Asnelles in Normandy, the village of Saint Côme de Fresné is less known and uncrowded even in summer.
The beach of Saint Côme de Fresné is cut in two zones. The nearest part to the city center is monitored in summer. Its environment is very pleasant with a view to the west on the Norman cliffs and to the east on Asnelles. It is bordered by many secondary houses (only little houses and mobile homes). In the sea, the remains of the artificial harbor of Arromanches remind us that this beach was used during the landing of June 6, 1944 (we are in the sector of Gold Beach led by the British).
The surroundings of Saint Côme de Fresné are remarkable and many sites are laid out to understand more the landing of the Second World War. Arromanches les Bains is the most famous resort nearby (only a few kilometers). West, we can get to the beach of Omaha Beach where there is the american cemetary and the Hoc point. East, it is the sector of Juno Beach with the pleasant resort of St Aubin sur Mer which is very animated in summer.
