Beaches in Furiani (20600) France - advise, map and photos

The small seaside resort of Furiani is located in Haute-Corse, south of Bastia, in the plain of Marana. It is its exceptional environment that makes it famous ; the municipality is in fact on several protected spaces among who Galerie de Furiani Paterno, the Natural Reserve of Corsica, the banks of the pond of Biguglia which is home to many species of seabirds and the shoreline of the same name (the largest lagoon lake in Corsica).

A walk allows to admire the Chapel Sainte-Marie, 2 kilometers from the village, wich would date from the 9th century, but also the chapels of Sant’Antone, Saint Pancrace, Santa Agata, Santa Lucia and a lot more, often ruined and that we discover at the bent of a trail since it does not appear on the maps !

One of its most beautiful assets is without a doubt the beach of Furiani that we call Lido de la Marana beach (or beach of Tombulu Biancu) with its fine sand and its deep blue waters. It is easily accessible (it is rare on the beaches of La Marana because of lots of subdivisions) and fairly quite in summer. Just in front there are the Pêcheurs Islands (where is built the Fortin de Biguglia) and San Damiano, both becamed peninsulas connected to the earth by the lagoon.
