Port d'Avall Beach in Collioure is located to the southeast of the Chateau Royal facing the beaches Boramar and St-Vincent. This is the only sand beach in town. The slight incline on the beach allows shallow waters for a long distance, allowing children to easily play in the water. Its location in the bay protects it from wind.
This beach has a lifeguard in the summer. Near the chateau, there is a kiosk with a private beach where we can rent mattresses and paddle boats. There is also an area with a ramp leading to the water (this could also be uses as a handicap access.
Note that we find a small parking lot along the beach (rare in Collioure, but difficult to find a spot in the summer). Games are available for kids near the castle. There are many restaurants nearby.
