La Vieille Nouvelle Beach of Port la Nouvelle is located north of the resort at the port area. Bordered by dunes, this beach is totally untamed. Attendance is quite low (because only known by the locals). However, be aware this beach is near the port. For those looking for the peace and quiet, it is wise to move towards the north. Note that La Vieille Nouvelle Beach of Gruissan is the continuation of the same beach (but away from the port area).
Access to this beach is via the port area (in front of the beachfront of Port la Nouvelle, take “Quai duPort” and follow the signs for all directions by the D703). At the roundabout, turn left following the signs to the La Vieille Nouvelle Beach. We cross the harbour area and a road on the right towards the sea. Please note, this access may be changed because plans are afoot to create parking away from the port area. Dogs on leash are tolerated depending on the period (banned in July, authorized in August).
