Vendres’ Montilles Beach is in the south of the Hérault department. It is separated from the neighbouring department by the river Aude which flows into the Mediterranean. This long sandy beach has a very untamed and preserved environment. Neighbouring campsites are quite away from the beach (several hundred metres) and we do not see any building in the area. There are two beach restaurants nearby. A lifeguard station is in place in the summer, on the left side.
To access the beach, the easiest way is to park in the car park below the marina of Vendres (Chichoulet port, quickly full because it is the only car park of Vendres which gives direct access to the beach). The beach is just a few metres from the car park. There is a second car park at the other end of the beach on the road right after Les Muriers campsite (however, you have to walk about 400 meters to reach the beach).
In the summer season (mid-June to early September), there is a hut on the beach (beach equipment for hire and restaurant).
