At just 10 kilometres from Béziers in the Hérault department, the small seaside resort of Vendres is known to be a typical and preserved Mediterranean village in a protected environment that captivates visitors. Its best features are probably the long sandy beach divided into four areas and the vineyards that surround it, the landscape made of garrigue and vineyards being one of the finest in the region (the beaches are 7 km from the village). To the north, you can reach the beaches of Valras and to the south brings you to the beaches of the department of Aude.
You can find around the various beaches of Vendres many campsites. The environment is preserved with a distance of several hundred meters between the tourist facilities and the sea.
A dune area separates the village lake from the sea and its fauna and flora are exceptional. It is a paradise for flamingos and nature lovers, but lovers of old stones are not left out because they can admire the Roman aqueduct and the remains of the Temple of Venus. Head for the small alleys to rest in the shade on the square where a fountain has remarkable gargoyles. Visitors are likely to appreciate the 4 km long beach and the introduction to various activities including diving and boating. Horse riding, lazer quest, inflatable games and tree climbing also occupy you while enjoying the unique setting! Chichoulet harbour is the perfect place to enjoy seafood!
