Our opinion on the Clemenceau Beach
Along the old house of Georges Clémenceau (St Vincent sur Jard), there is a small sandy beach. Nicknamed beach of Clémenceau and bordered by a promenade dike offering a panoramic view on the wooded coast of Longeville sur Mer, it is uncrowded because it can anly be used at mid tide for swimming. At high tide, it totally disappears but we can go on the dike or on the nearby lawns.
The main interest of this beach is the house and the impressionist garden of Georges Clemenceau. At 78 years old, after a busy political life, he settles on his native Vendéen land to recharge his batteries. With the help of his friend Claude Monet, he created a wild garden on the dune. The house and the gardens can be visited, house in the state where she was at the death of Clémenceau in 1929.

A pleasant dike promenade borders the beach.

Access only by stairs ... impossible for people with reduced mobility.
