Located in the department of the Vendee, on the coast of Lumière, the seaside town of Talmont-Saint-Hilaire is a unique resort where you can still see traces of dinosaurs in the sand and algae.
The marina is the ideal place to walk and discover the local gastronomy. There are several restaurants and cafes and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The resort is known for the many activities it offers to its guests, such as horseback riding through the forest, plains or marshes, golf course situated on the seafront and of course water sports.
There is a unique sandy beach in Talmont, south of the town at the mouth of Payré. Bordered by towering dunes, this beach is very busy in the summer season and has many facilities. There is even an area to practice kite surfing. In the north, Mine Bay is an opportunity for a family outing with some small coves to discover. But it's the Sables d’Olonne where you will find the most interesting beaches near Talmont.
The oyster park of Payré is one of the smallest in France and can be visited. You can also discover the 16 km of coastline where cliffs and secret coves give way to vast sandy beaches. The estuary Payré offers changing colours in the middle of the salt marshes. Those of Guittière are particularly interesting for birdwatchers, where you can discover some very rare species. The 20 km of cycle paths allow you to enjoy this unique corner of tranquillity.
