Butin Beach in Honfleur is the closest beach to the historical downtown area. It is located at the mouth of the Seine near the Ratier dam (dangerous for pedestrians). It is appreciated by families since there are natural pools created at low tide between the beach and the Ratier bank. In the summer there is a first aid station, bathing huts, games for kids, as well as a snack bar. However, the view of Le Havre's harbor area and the Normandy bridge are not very agreeable.
To get here from downtown, follow directions for Naturospace (boulevard Charles V) on highway D513 for 1.5 kilometers. There is a free parking lot on the left near the lighthouse.
