Olonne sur Mer's Sauveterre Beach is the main beach of the resort. Located in the forest of Olonne, this wide sandy beach is still untamed. Bordered by dunes, it has a lifeguard station in the summer season and a small tavern where you can buy drinks and sandwiches.
In the summer season, the supervised area is very crowded. Slightly further away, there are quieter areas but swimming is not authorised.
700 meters north of the lifeguard station, is a zone where naturism is allowed.
To get to this beach from Olonne sur Mer take the D80 in the direction of Brétignolles sur Mer, for 2.6 km. After the Loubine camping, turn left towards the forest of Olonne then turn right towards the beach. There is a large free car park. Be careful, the first access from the car park is the beach Pierres Noires (unsupervised, no swimming). For the supervised beach of Sauveterre, take the path on the right (about 800 meters walk).
