Beach Petit Fort Philippe is one of the busiest beaches in the area of Dunkirk. Its waterfront is very well equipped for families (children's games, changing areas for babies) and for people with reduced mobility (routes are marked on the floor in blue to indicate the areas of access to the beach). In the summer season, this beach is supervised.
The swimming area is located at the centre of Petit Fort Philippe. Near the beach, there are shops with restaurants and cafes.
On the southern part of the beach, there are beach-soccer fields and a nautical base.
North of the beach, you can practice sand yachting as well as kite-surfing and windsurfing.
To get to this beach from the centre of Gravelines follow signs for Petit Fort Philippe. There are several car parks. One at Boulevard de l’Est level (near the canal), another at the rue Victor Hugo (close to the area for sand yachting) and a last one on the road of Aquaculture for kite-surfing.
