There are several beaches on the island of Gaou in Six Fours les Plages but the main one is at the end of it and is sandy. Gently shelving beach. Ideal for swimming. The setting is really nice with a beautiful view of the island of Embiez.
There are also some small coves around the island (it takes less than 30 minutes to make a round trip). Caution, the island is a protected area, you must respect road signs and you cannot venture into prohibited areas undergoing redevelopment.
To access this small island, go to the port of Brusc, straight to the car park (pay-as-you-stay). From the island of Petit Gaou, you can reach the island by a bridge (pedestrian only). Island trails lead around it in the middle of vegetation. The beach is at the end of the island (opposite the bridge).
