Merlimont’s central beach extends along the Boulevard de la Manche and stretches for about 800 meters. The central part is supervised in the summer season (and long weekends in May). This beach is very popular with families because of the summer activities. People come to enjoy this safe beach supervised lifeguards. It is also equipped to accommodate people with reduced mobility.
At the lifeguard station, there is a bar with a terrace directly on the beach.
At high tide, the beach is very small, so that at low tide when sea withdraws, the people come to practice yachting or fishing.
Caution, if you are swimming outside the supervised areas because currents are very strong in this sector of the Côte d’Opale.
