The village of Ogliastro, located in Cap Corse, in the department of Haute-Corse, is famous for its olive farming and the marina of Albu (or marina of Albo). It is located south of Canari and north of the famous grey pebble beaches of Nonza and it owes its name to the light colour of its coastline.
Its landscape, between sea and valleys, offers vacationers many natural pools on the Guado Grande River, to get some fresh air between two walks in the hinterland. The marina of Albu and the Genoese tower of Del Greco dating from the fifteenth century, built in shale, are must see when one is in town. This is where the pebble beach of Albo and its surroundings is located, well laid out, which invite one to stroll and enjoy beautiful sunsets. The wind is rather strong, ideal for windsurfing and kite surfing lovers. The unspoilt nature offers beautiful scenery and a coastline, which has remained unchanged for years.
Visitors also like to stroll around the path of Barbaresques, which starts from the hamlet of Albu and goes along some treasures of heritage like the church of San Dumenicu dating from the fifteenth century and the ruins of the church of San Michele dating from the tenth century.
