Beaches in Benerville-sur-Mer (14910) France - advise, map and photos

Small seaside resort of Calvados and adjoining the famous seaside resort of  Deauville, Benerville-sur-Mer is the favorite destination for tourists wanting to enjoy the Channel and the beautiful landscapes of Lower Normandy while avoiding the crowds. 

Popular and discreet, it is located on the Côte Fleurie, in the heart of the Pays d’Auge, and one can discover on its lands the Mont Canisy, symbol of the Second World War. This site, which was an important part of the Atlantic Wall, can be visited and bunkers, a trench and many batteries can still be seen. 

The Gabriel castle is the most famous villa of Benerville, itw as bought by Yves Saint-Laurent in 1983 and then sold in 2008. It is a superb testimony of neogothic style and was built in 1874. It dominates the bay of Deauville.

While strolling by the sea, do not miss to observe the rocks of the city that hides many fossils that can be picked up. There are two beaches in Benerville sur Mer, that of the Ammonites and that of la Garenne. In the continuity, we find the beach of Lais sur Mer in the town of Tourgéville (accessible by the pedestrian promenade).
