The beach of Platin is situated at the exit from downtown Saint-Palais-sur-Mer going toward La Palmyre, before the Royan golf course. This sand beach covers 800 meters between the two rocky promontories which include the rock formations of the Pont du Diable.You can also see the lighthouse of Terre-Negre from this beach.
Be careful, swimming is not supervised and there are sharp rocks that can be dangerous. Likewise, shorefishing is prohibited along the entire shoreline of the community. Leisure activities (surfing, kayaks or other sliding activities are also prohibited.
To access this beach from the allee de la Jonque, multiple perpendicular trails provide access to the beach Allee du Drakkar (with a parking lot), allee de la Goelette, allee du Lougre (with restrooms), allee de la Fregate, rue de la Corvette or the avenue Joseph Odelin.
Note that the sentier des douaniers runs along this beach and from here one can rejoin the plage du bureau (toward Vaux sur Mer) or the plage du Concie (toward La Palmyre) through the corniche de Terre.
