Our opinion on the Flots Bleus or Goelands Beach

Flots Bleus Beach or Goelands Beach extends from the mouth of the Var below the Cap 3000 shopping centre to the port of St-Laurent-du-Var. The various public beaches are pebbly with some areas of sand. On the left, 200 meters after the lifeguard station, you will find a sandy beach, in the summer season only (Landsberg Beach).

The most eastern part (below Cap 3000 - the closest to Nice) has a marina and a Beach Volley pitch (Cousteau Beach). It is reached by a small one-way road (road to the right before the entrance to Cap 3000).

The central part, along the Landsberg am Lech promenade is quieter than the western part (the area is residential) and along a pedestrianized area. Pebbles make up this part of the beach; the sand is on the left.

The beach near Flots Bleus Promenade (western part) is the liveliest area. This beach is supervised in the summer season and is labelled “Handiplage”. The area on the harbour side is occupied by private beaches and a small free beach (a mix of sand and pebbles). This area is completely pedestrian.

This is one of the few beaches in the Alpes Maritime where there is a pedestrian area, no roads nearby. Very important for families with children. In addition, there are numerous restaurants. However, the airport is nearby so it can be noisy.

Note that this beach is often prohibited for swimming (due to pollution).

Possibility to practice kitesurfing (banned from 15^th April to 15^th October in the 300m zone).
