The Gulf of Propriano stretches south from the Gulf of Ajaccio between the small family resort of Porto-Pollo (north) and the tip of Campomoro in the south. This Gulf can also be called the Gulf of Valinco.
There are many beaches in the Gulf of Propriano. From the large sandy beach like Baracci Beach located at the bottom of the Gulf to the small confidential cove, there are lots of places to swim.
Propriano is the busiest resort of the Gulf. With a busy port (connected to Sardinia), there are many shops and restaurants on the waterfront. Porto-Pollo is more family-oriented with secure beaches in summer and many activities for young people. The center is smaller and the atmosphere is rustic. There is also one of the most beautiful dive sites in Corsica, the Cathedrals. Campomoro is very charming with one of the largest Genoese towers. It is a very good starting point for hikers on the coast. The center of Olmeto is away from the coast (perched village) with some fortified houses.
