Beaches in Frontignan (34110) France - advise, map and photos

The seaside resort of Frontignan is located northeast of Sete, and offers a landscape between sea, ponds and scrubland. There are 7 km of beautiful sand and pebble beaches available on either side of the marina. This small resort in the Hérault region has the Blue Flag since 1996.

One can enjoy the preserved environment of Frontignan, between the beaches near the city centre or the wild beaches east of Frontignan (towards Vic la Gardiole). Aresquiers Beach is wilder.

One can also access Frontignan by barge through the Rhône-Sète Canal running through the resort. This is an original way to discover the different landscapes of the tourist destination of the Herault region.

There are many water activities to enjoy in Frontignan such as scuba diving, windsurfing, and canoeing and even water jet! Bike paths make it easier to move around. Those who wish to leave the seaside can head to the Gardiole Mountains where there are several marked trails (hiking, equestrian and mountain biking).

Note that the western part is less interesting because there is an industrial area including an oil storage center. Nearby, northeast, Maguelone Beach offers a vast natural preserved area and the beaches of Sète southwest long stretches of sand with a pleasant pedestrian promenade. In summer, the beaches of Palavas are interesting because there are many activities (about 30 minutes by car as one has to go round the different ponds).
