Beaches in Carnon (34281) France - advise, map and photos

Carnon-Plage is the closest seaside destination to Montpellier (13 km, about 15 minutes drive). It is therefore the destination the most appreciated by the people of Montpellier.

Seven kilometers of fine sand extend to the harbor of Carnon to La Grande-Motte. The different beaches in Carnon are very appreciated by families with children since swimming is easy here. The downtown beach is the most adapted for kids with a play area and a kids' club. This beach also has a lifeguard. In this first zone we find several little houses on the seafront with a maximum of two stories. The road is not too close. From Petit Travers Beach, the environment is totally different. The houses are replaced with dunes that make these places more wild.

On the right bank we find only one beach that is shared with the beaches of Palavas les Flots.

The different parking lots in Carnon are free, except for Carnon Ouest. For the more wild beaches toward La Grande Motte, it is advised to go by bike or bus since it is hard to find parking in the height of summer.

The channel Rhône à Sète passes by here. It is possible to rent boats without a permit.

An amusement park is also available, bringing joy to kids.

Those who are more athletic will find a kitesurfing area near Petit Travers Beach or Grand Travers Beach in La Grande-Motte located nearby.
