Located in the department of Loire-Atlantique, about thirty kilometres from Saint-Nazaire, the small seaside town of Batz-sur-Mer is part of the Guérande peninsula.

Surrounded by Le Pouliguen and Le Croisic, the town was an important parish centre during the Middle Ages, as seen by the ruins of the Chapel of Notre-Dame-du-Mûrier and the Gothic church of Saint-Guénolé, full of treasures. From here, the views of the marsh, the peninsula, the Traict and the ocean are all there to be seen, all you have to do is climb the narrow stairs!
