The seaside town of Menton is a foretaste of Italian villages. With its brightly coloured houses plunging into the sea, it is a real picture postcard landscape. The seaside promenade offers a very beautiful glimpse of the old city and its basilica, visible from the various landmarks of the city.
The possibilities are endless concerning the beaches of Menton! There are several pebble beaches (or gravel) around the promenade of the Sun, from the casino of Menton to the old port. They are entirely public and supervised during the summer season. We will choose the Sablettes beach for the children, as it is covered in both gravel and sand, and it is therefore easier to slip into the water.
The Rondelli beach is also very nice (next to the port Garavan), but smaller (the view of the old town is beautiful).
But Menton is not only made of beaches! Very beautiful gardens are worth visiting (it takes one afternoon to visit them all), the new Jean-Cocteau museum or the old town. We are also less than 2 km away from the Italian border. In February, the Lemon Festival is one of the most important attractions in the city. You can also visit the sandy beaches of Monaco or of Roquebrune Cap Martin with the beach of the Buse at the entrance of Cap Martin, which offers a unique setting with a view of Monaco from one side and of the cap from the other.
