Our opinion on the West Beach
Portiragnes’ West Beach extends along the nature reserve of “La Grande Maïre” amid two lakes (the Riviérette and Great Maïre) towards Sérignan. This large sandy beach is the most untamed of Portiragnes.
Since 2015, dogs are allowed on the area of beach after the sailing school (from the carpark, turn right, the area is after the containers) provided they are on a leash.
In the area near the parking and “Avenue de la Grande Maïre”, there is a sailing school, a private beach and you can enjoy water sports. There is also an area set aside for camping cars.

This is the beach in the far west of Portiragnes, near Sérignan.
At the beach, there are several lakes. You can see the lake of Riviérette.
We are at the first lake (on the left left) looking towards Portiragnes. In the distance, you can make out Sète with “Mont Clair” where we also find beautiful beaches.
This is the most untamed of Portiragnes beach with dunes, lakes and vast stretches of sand.
In the background, the lakes and the tourist centre.
Behind this beach, there is the nature reserve “Grand Maïre”. On the right is the sea.
Going to the second lake, there is a better view of Sérignan.
