The department Gard opens to the Mediterranean Sea. Here we find only two seaside resorts, the two are in Grau du Roi. Situated at only a few kilometers from the beaches of Hérault and notably the beaches of La Grande Motte, the beaches of Gard extend over several kilometers. Port-Camargue is found near the marina. Nearby is the famous Espiguette Beach, an immense desert of sand with dunes that can reach up to ten meters high! Some culture shock is guaranteed at this beach of Camargue.
Nearby we find the town Aigues Mortes surrounded by walls and salt tides of Petite Camargue. To the east we join up with the beaches of Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur and notably those of the department Bouches du Rhone. The first part resembles the beaches of Gard (Saintes-Maires-de-la-Mer and Port-Saint-Louis) then we get to the Blue Coast which offers a completely different landscape.
Located in the department Gard, the seaside resort Grau du Roi is an old fishermen's village of Camargue. The beaches make up about seventeen kilometers of the coast of the department Hérault of Bouches du Rhone, to the south of La Grande-Motte of salty Camargue.
