Our opinion on the Saint Michel Beach
Saint-Michel Beach in Erquy is divided into three northeast facing parts, therefore slightly sheltered from prevailing winds than its neighbours (Le Guen, Portouais, Lourtouais). Although this beach is beautiful, it has a less rich vegetation, but has a more significant accessibility and length. The municipal campsite just behind is separated by a wide grassy area, which does not make the area populous. It is often peaceful.
To get to this beach from the center of Erquy take rue des Hôpitaux then rue St Michel. The beach is located behind the small port.

There are few trees around, but nature is unspoilt.
The two longest parts of the beach are covered in pebbles on the upper part and sand lower down, but not only at high tide.
It is possible to practice light water sports but the absence of slipway makes the launch problematic.
The beach is pebbly, a good barrier against erosion.
Trails are built to preserve natural dunes.
The easternmost part is a small sandy cove. It is close to the small port and Champ du Port Beach (also called Montiers Beach).
Pink sandstone rocks are a bit rough and pleasant to the touch.
The sand is superfine.
The island of Saint-Michel and its chapel are in the distance.
The grass area: convenient for picnics, but shade is scarce.
The municipal campsite is in the vicinity, but far enough to preserve the wild environment of this beach.
