The beach of Park an Aod in Carantec is located on the island of Callot in the western half. « Park an shore ». Fields, there is talk of this island with a climate conducive to potatoes and where lives only fifteen inhabitants year-round. A few villas also one that housed the family of General de Gaulle when they came to pick him up the day before June 18,1940. It is the tightest isthmus of the island. According to the sunshine or the wind, we have only a few meters to go to the other side, on the beach of Park an Illiz (the field of the church). Both are worth the detour.
The island of Callot is accessible at low tide from the street of Port de Carantec. It takes about 25 minutes to get to this beach on foot (2 km). Access also by car with parking after the Entrée beach. For the return, watch out for tide times.

The arrival on the beach will delight lovers of postcards. Everything is there : the moor, the sand, the grove of pines, the hamlet nestled in the hallow of the valley and in the shadow of his chapel of Notre-Dame of Callot…The latter dates from the 17th century but is built on a sanctuary dating back to the 5th, time when the druids had not all disappeared.
A riprap nevertheless preserves the shoreline. Callot island is not very high and the sea nibbles.
This Callot island is particularly rich in sandy beaches, and in dunes.
Between the small road and the beach, a grassy strip allows to dominate a bit without depriving oneself of the feeling of being always on the beach.
Tamaris seems to be one of the rare plants to support the acidity of the soil and the strength of the winds.
By high tide, space is multiplied. In front we recognize the bell tower of Saint-Pol-de-Léon.
Leaving the beach to go back to the church, the path is delicate to wish.
