Magouero Beach in Plouhinec - France

Our opinion on the Magouero Beach

Plouhinec’s Magouero Beach is perhaps the toughest to get to….and also the least-visited! In the middle of nature, it is very similar to Kervégant Beach in relation to its surrounding dunes but the mouth of the Etel river is further away, allowing for calmer waters (be careful however, as these coastal waters are known to be dangerous at times…). Another great advantage is that there is no need to walk a great distance from the car park to the beach (at Kervégant, it’s 500 metres away). In summer there is a lifeguard station and for those with reduced mobility, beach wheelchairs are available. There are also rock pools near the main entrance to entertain kids and fishers alike.
To get to Magouero Beach from Plouhinec church, follow the signs for Magouero Beach (signposted between a Credit Agricole bank and a bar – “Rue Blanche”) for 4.5 km (under 3 miles). It is a small country road that cuts through farmland. Alternatively, there is another way to get there. Coming from Etel on the D781, branch off at the D9 and turn left (“Kerabus” way, unfortunately there is no sign posting – see map for more details).
