Beaches in Pornichet (44380) France - advise, map and photos

The seaside resort of Pornichet is, since the 19th century, the fashionable seaside resort of the Atlantic coast. Located 5 km from La Baule, attendance is significant in summer. As for the old town, that is to say Old Pornichet, it is active throughout the year. Note that the coasts of Pornichet are located on Côte d'Amour.

There are three beaches in Pornichet; the main one, located along Oceanides Boulevard (Booksellers beach) coincides with the Grande beach of La Baule (one of the largest in Europe). There is a casino and thalassotherapy centre in front of it. Two other beaches are available in the direction of Saint-Nazaire, including Bonne Source beach -which is the largest. Pornichet is a family destination and received the Kid Resort label.

There are major seaside activities in summer in Pornichet and in the surrounding areas. The racecourse of Pornichet organizes many meetings (day or night) in summer, providing an opportunity to experience a show featuring trotters or gallopers. There are less crowded seaside resorts on the Guérande Peninsula nearby. Piriac sur Mer is, for example, labelled Small Town of Character and La Turballe is a starting point towards Belle-Ile.
