Beaches in Equihen-Plage (62224) France - advise, map and photos

Equihen-Plage, located about ten kilometres from Boulogne-Sur-Mer, is a small seaside resort on Côte d’Opale, quiet and pleasant. It is bordered by the English Channel and has one of the most beautiful beaches on the coast. It attracts many families and artists looking for peace and quiet. Here, one discovers pins in the air, a quaint curiosity found in several fishermen huts.

There is in the village a wide beach stretching several kilometres towards Hardelot Beach. The north has a wild coast with small coves. Crevasse Cove has the easiest access with a car park nearby. One comes there to swim or collect mussels (increasingly rare). Continuing on the coastal path, near Cape Alprech, there is a small and secluded cove in the town of Portel. Continuing on the trail, one arrives in the resort of Portel near Boulogne sur Mer.

One can enjoy walking around Hures Park, which consists of ponds and where one can enjoy stunning views. Mussel fishing is the favourite activity of tourists, as well as walking along the sandy beaches. Those are limited by dunes and cliffs and stretch over 3 km from the Warrenne estuary to the cliffs of Cap d'Alprech. Equihen is particularly committed to preserving the surrounding nature, which can be noticed on the seafront, which is very little urbanized. The cliffs, dunes and creeks mainly compose the landscape and one can enjoy beautiful walks along the coast. On Equihen Beach, sailing, kite surfing and sea kayaking are the most popular activities on Côte d’Opale!

Boulogne sur Mer beach, near Equihen, is more urban. Touquet-Plage in the south is one of the most famous resorts on Côte d'Opale. Wimereux is one of the oldest resorts in the north and marks the entrance to the Great Site of 2 Caps.
