Beaches in Cap d'Agde (34300) France - advise, map and photos

Cap d'Agde is one the most reputed seaside resorts of Hérault. With its fourteen kilometers of fine sand, vacationers can choose between many beaches. Richelieu Beach, located near the harbor and shops and businesses, is the biggest beach in Cap d'Agde. The beaches here are accessible by pedestrian paths which make it more agreeable for families with children, as there are no roads nearby. Note that Grande Conque Beach is a black sand beach at the foot of the cliffs of Cap d'Agde which is very rare for this region, even in France!

Cap d'Agde also has a large tourist complex open on the Mediterranean with a thalassotherapy center and a nudist colony. On the leisure island, we find attractions for everyone, day and night.

For those who prefer amusement parks,  Aqualand of Cap d'Agde is located nearby and offers wave pools and waterslides. For those looking for tranquility, hike up Mont St Loup.

The city of Agde, found a few kilometers from the Cap d'Agde is rich in culture and history. Nicknamed “la Perle Noire” (the Black Pearl) by Marco Polo, it is the second oldest city in France. In the center, we find the canal du Midi and the Hérault river which adds a certain charm. We also find the only round sluice in France!

To the north we find Marseillan-Plage with large sand beaches. To the south we find Vias-Plage and Portiragnes, two seaside resorts and many campsites.
