Our opinion on the Socoa Beach
Socoa beach is located just off Ciboure, just after the sign for the resort of Socoa. This is the largest beach of Socoa and also the most crowded in the summer. The public sandy beach is bordered, on one side, by the river Untxin (the widest part of the beach) and extends for several hundred meters to Ciboure at low tide (at high tide, there is about 250 meters of beach).
This beach is very nice for families because it is protected by several breakwaters. Note that there is also a more pleasant view of the Basque Coast with, on one side, the Basque houses of Socoa with its fort and, on the other side, Saint-Jean-de-Luz with its great beach.
Note that it has been awarded Handiplage and it has a restaurant. There are a few places to park along the road.
