Our opinion on the Sainte Barbe Beach
Ste Barbe Beach is located on the peninsula of Isolella (Pietrosella) next to the famous beach of Olmeta (beach hut of the former goal keeper of the French football team). This beach is less known than its neighbour but many people come after failing to find a place on the beach next door. On the northern part, there is a restaurant on the waterfront and an island connected to the mainland by a path (it's the attraction of this beach). The setting is nice but the beach is narrow (especially northern part). The southern part is untamed (wider and bordered by a pine forest) but crowded in the summer season.
To get to this beach from Ajaccio, take direction Pietrosella following D55 and then follow the signs for Isolella. At the peninsula, the beach is at the end of the road. Please note, parking is very difficult, only a few places to park.
