Our opinion on the Pipe Beach
Pipe Beach in Ile-d’Yeu (or sailing school beach) is located 2 km east of Joinville harbour between the tips of Gilberge and Pré-de-Coulon. This sandy beach stretches for about 300 meters and is bordered by the Yacht Club (sailing school, private homes and restaurant). People usually come here to sail. The nearest area from Fir Beach is more suitable for swimming (this is the beginning of Fir Wood, which is very nice for a picnic).
This beach is named after the building used nowadays by the Yacht Club, which was formerly a holiday village which residents were specialized in manufacturing Pipes.
To get to this beach from the port of Ile-d'Yeu, follow the seafront east. It takes approximately 25 minutes on foot to reach the beach.

The Yacht Club is located on this beach, with a sailing school (this is also a vacation home). It is often called sailing school beach because it is more dedicated to water sports.
On the left, the beach stretches to the tip of Gilberge where there is also a small beach.
There are some rocks at low tide (high percentage), perfect for fishing on foot.
