Our opinion on the Main Beach
Main Beach in Argelès-sur-Mer is located near the roundabout of Avenue De-Gaulle and Avenue des Platanes below the esplanade Trenet. Along here is a pedestrian promenade that permits us to join the different beaches in town. This beach is classified as “pavillon bleu” and offers a first-aid station on the left part of the beach. Bordering this beach, on the sand, are football fields in the summer.
You can get here from the esplanade Trenet. We find several parking lots: Avenue des Platanes, Avenue du Grau, and two more on Avenue des Pins. All parking lots are free during the day, but it is hard to find parking in the summer. It is best to use a bike if you can.
This beach is very agreeable with shops nearby, but it is crowded.

This beach in Argelès-sur-Mer is located downtown. On the right is a nice view of the beginning of the Cote Vermeille that divides the large sand beaches and small creeks.
This beach has a first-aid station open in the summer – P4.

We are on the downtown beach of Argelès-sur-Mer in July. There are a lot of people!
From this beach we have a nice view of the Cote Vermielle that extends to Spain.
On this beach there are beach soccer fields set up in the summer.
This beach is bordered by a large esplanade where events are organized in the summer. On the edge we find several cafes and restaurants.
A nice pedestrian promenade is located on the edge of this beach with several green spaces.
