Our opinion on the Couronne Vieille Beach - La Couronne
In Anse de la Couronne Vieille in La Couronne (town of Martigues), there are two beaches. The first is near the road of the Batterie and is pebbly. It is situated in a large bay and is sheltered from the wind. The second beach is next to La Couronne lighthouse in a small sandy bay which is easily accessible from the lighthouse road with a car park nearby.
The beaches are 100 metres apart from each other. They are not supervised. Via the coastal footpath, you can reach the beaches that are further east including the beautiful beach of Ste Croix.
Heading west, there is an area used by divers.

This beach in the cove of La Couronne Vieille is pebbly with a launch area for boats.
This beach is easily accessible by car.
The rocks of Vieille Couronne Bay are smooth which are nice in the summer to sunbathe on.
A second beach is available next to the La Couronne lighthouse.
A sandy beach with some gravel. Nice view of the lighthouse.
This appears to be a little bay at the end of the world. Very pleasant.
