Our opinion on the Central Beach

The central beach of Saint Côme de Fresné is part of the popular beaches around of Arromanches les Bains (that of the latter is not the most pleasant one). It is vaste and wide at low tide and has a first aid station (opened in summer). It is one of the beach of the Landing of June 6, 1944 (sector Gold Beach), sector of the British. It offers a nice view on the artificial port and on the cliffs to the west. East, we can join the beach of Asnelles.

The beach is located in a residential district with many secondary and holiday houses (many mobile homes). It is family.

The main access are situated at the level of the Sea Alley (two free parkings).

West side, this beach stretches on several hundreds of meters in direction of Arromanches les Bains and of the Cape Manvieux (we can see the cliffs). On the left, we have the first aid station (wooden building).

On the right (to the east), the beach stretches to Asnelles. To note, that at high tide, the beach is reduced to a minimum.

Launching wedge on the beach of Saint-Côme-de-Fresné

We find several launching wedges on this beach. The environment is very residential with many holiday rentals nearby (little houses, cottages, mobile homes, …).

Family beach near Arromanches les Bains - Saint-Côme-de-Fresné

At low tide, the sea retreats very far. On the right of this photo, we see the remains of the artificial port of Arromanches (we are on the sector of Gold Beach).
