The beaches in the Var region

From Saint-Cyr–sur-Mer to Agay, there are lots of sand and pebble beaches as well as small creeks on the coast of the Var region. You can feel this is Provence from the very beginning of the department (in the west), with small fishing ports where there are a few pointers. The most important and touristic resorts in the Var region (Bormes les Mimosas, Lavandou) are located in the centre of the department. You will enjoy great sandy beaches in the Var region, which are central to these resorts or small discreet creeks provided you walk. In the east of the department, you are in the Côte d’Azur (French Riviera) before reaching the beaches of the Alpes Maritimes with the famous beaches of Cannes. To the west, the setting is exceptional on the beaches of the Bouches du Rhone, which offer lots of creeks.

There are also several islands in the Var region. Those of Porquerolles are the most famous. Paul Ricard islands around Six Fours and Bandol are smaller.
